Alas no !!
Apologies for the delay in updating but unfortunately the signing of a few new faces couldn't turn our fortunes around. There's still time though as we yet to have put out our best eleven - if anyone has any idea of what it might be please direct all emails to me !!
Back home again this weekend as we take on BTS Phoenix Res.

Not a lot better Sunday either as once again a bare eleven - over-indulgence a factor this week !!
Anyway, three down at half-time, a bit better in the second half but still we finish a game without a number above nil in the goals for column.
New signings abound this week though with four new faces looking for a starting spot - could this be a turn-around in fortunes ?

Well, we scraped to a bare eleven and had the worst start in a jolly long time - two down inside the first five minutes !!
Not so bad for the rest of the half but no goals in the for column and then tiredness caught up in the second half as we tried to push on resulting in another heavy defeat.
Still, the 'corner' plan almost got us a goal and Steve saved another penalty !
There's always next week - home again to Stone Island.

A bit late but as we haven't played any games since the last update I'm not all that worried - thanks to the deluge (if you can have one) of snow, the Colchester Sunday League has been wiped out since 28th November and only two matches made kickoff today with the rest missing out due to waterlogged pitches.
Good job actually as we would have been forced to default due to lack of players - we only had SIX available when the game got called off.
Here's hoping for a bit more keen-ness this week as we take on Feering Utd Res at home.

A bit slow on the updates as I completely forgot I hadn't included last week's trek to Witham to report on our Essex County Cup match against Bridge St Hearts. (We lost by the way !!)
Anyway, it was John Fowler Memorial Cup this morning and again we struggled for players but despite that we put in a terrific performance, admittedly mostly on the defensive only to go out by 3-0 !!
Some major changes next week I think as a number of players are away - but we'll see what happens !!

Well that makes a change - this time we walk off feeling disappointed that we didn't win the game.
A hard-fought encounter against Newtown Rovers Res over at Old Heath Rec sees us come away with a point when maybe it should have been three !!

Almost a point, maybe more and then our keeper makes a bish of it and gifts the points to Darcy - thus apologies all round.
Away again this week as we travel to Old Heath Rec to take on Newtwon Rovers Res.

Maybe I should stop predicting ... either that or we should just play like that a bit more often.
After turning out a very good performance the week before, we were rewarded this week with not only an equally good performance but also a win !!
A victory by two goals to one against Woodham Athletic Res in the Essex Junior Trophy sees us through to the second round.
Alas, missing out on the league campaign has put us bottom of the table as Tolleshunt Darcy Res recorded a win against Stone Island.
Convenient then as we travel to Darcy Rec this Sunday !!

This is starting to get a bit predictable - just ten players on Sunday as we took on Newtown Rovers in the League Cup, on top for a lot of the game but go down at the end !
I say ten, but Tonguey strained one of his leg muscles early on (for a change) and Dyl pinged his hamstring in the second half so it was a bit of the walking wounded at the back - but we almost did it !!
At home again this Sunday as we take on Woodham Athletic Res in the Essex Sunday Junior Trophy ... who knows, maybe a County Cup run beckons ?

A much better performance but yet again we don't take advantage when we're on top and get punished at the other end.
Another forced change around to the line-up saw Gary Chenery at centre-half but despite that he was furthest forward at a free kick to claim his second of the season.
The site is almost up to date (except for match reports and photos) - home again next week as we take on Newtown Rovers in the League Cup.

Alas, not such a good result on Sunday as we go down 0-8 to Wivenhoe Old Boys.
A good team on paper, but alas not on grass - again, here's hoping for better this weekend as we play hosts to Clarendon.

A great start put us two up but unfortunately BTS Phoenix Res were just too strong in the end and we eventually went down 2-6 on our travels in the rain to Langham Rec.

Won't bother putting the teamsheet up again !!
Anyway, not the best of performances but not a great surprise really as yet again we started with eleven - well, ten actually but Andy Bell crawled from his (self-induced) sick-bed to make up the numbers.
The stuffing was pretty much knocked out of us early on but we hung on in there and could have got ourselves back into it, but it just wasn't to be ...

A bit quicker off the mark this week - but only with the website as a weakened Polstead go down 5-0 away at Feering Utd Res.
With a couple of players dropping out at the last minute (almost) - one through unavoidable work commitments and the other through general laziness we scraped a bare eleven and but for a mad five minutes in the first half were doing okay - until we let in three !!
A better second half but the game was gone - and so were the points.
Here's hoping for better next week.

First game of the season and we take a point !
A short trip up the road to Mile End Rec to take on Tempest FC with a new-look side for 2010/11.
We go behind midway through the first half but fight back well to equalise and almost nick it - but a point is a good start.
All the usuals for the site are up to date; match info, player stats, league table etc - match report and photos to follow !!
Away again next week to early leaders Feering Utd Res.

We've been away for a while, but with the new season about to begin, we're back !! A few new faces this season have kept the club afloat and to be honest, if it wasn't for them you wouldn't be reading this. A poor season last year left us struggling in the bottom two of Division Three, but, thanks to a lot of teams above us folding (through lack of players) we stay in Div. 3 with the majority of Div. 4 coming up to join us. The site is almost completely up to date, the only real thing missing are the match reports from the last half of the season. They'll be on soon, as will some photos from last season courtesy of Charlotte & Amy !! Training up at Stoke again this Sunday - 10.00am, and then we're off and running away at Mile End against Tempest.
